A delegation led by Lorenza Ferrari Hofer, President of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), visited the Intellectual Property Court (IPC) of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) of China on June 15, 2026.

He Zhonglin, First Deputy Chief Judge of the IPC, received the delegation. Zhu Li, Deputy Chief Judge of the Court, also attended the meeting.

He welcomed Hofer and her delegation and briefed the delegation on the IPC's overall development and several typical cases it had handled recently.

Over the past seven years, the IPC has established sound working ties with the AIPPI and its China branch, He noted. The court has actively participated in events organized by the association, while the AIPPI has regularly shared the latest developments and information on global intellectual property issues with the court, he said.

He expressed the hope that both sides would further strengthen communication and exchanges, elevate cooperation to a new level, and share more compelling stories about global intellectual property governance with the international community.

Hofer spoke highly of the achievements of the IPC since its establishment, saying that it has developed a world-leading adjudication philosophy and a comprehensive system of adjudication rules. She noted that many of its cases merit further study and discussion by researchers and professionals in the international intellectual property community.

She expressed the hope of maintaining close ties with the court and jointly building a more open and inclusive platform for intellectual property justice.

Ralph Nack, the AIPPI's Reporter General; Guillaume Henry, First Deputy Reporter General; and Xiong Yanfeng, Assistant Reporter General, introduced the AIPPI's recent work and shared information on relevant resolutions adopted by the association in recent years.

The two sides also exchanged views on topics including dynamic injunctions in intellectual property cases and preparations for the 2026 AIPPI World Congress to be held in Hamburg, Germany.

Long Chuanhong, President of the AIPPI Branch in China，as well as representatives from the AIPPI's delegation and officials from the SPC's International Cooperation Department and the IPC also attended the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, Hofer and her delegation visited the court's Litigation Service Center, observed a court hearing and watched the court's English promotional video.
